MEET THE BAND

Cindy Trock, Vocalist

Cindy Trock has been singing since she was born. She found a great love in music and has always had a strong passion to perform. From starting in music classes in elementary school and getting as many solos as possible to high school choir and getting at least 1 solo every concert. Her family saw her passion and encouraged her dreams. She started acoustic guitar lessons in middle school then moved to play the flute for 6 years, both in classical music and marching band.

Cindy was in her first band from 2021-2022, singing Jazz, Pop, Blues and Indie. They performed in Longmont, Boulder and Loveland. After the band ended, Cindy came upon the amazing Jimmy Z’s ad and knew it was fate. The Midnight Hour Band NoCo has been a warm and encouraging home to this still young musician.

Breanne Johnson, Vocalist

Breanne grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado with wonderful siblings and parents. At the young age of 6 years old, she had already developed vibrato and sang in vocal competitions. When she was 8 years old, she started performing in musical theatre productions at a place she still holds near and dear to her heart, Colorado Academy of the Arts. Here is where her confidence grew as a vocalist, actress, dancer and human being. Throughout her childhood, she went on to perform in over 60 productions and still continues to perform to this day.

Shortly after graduating from Poudre High School in 2015, she recorded her first album called “First” which is available on Spotify. The songs on this album were written between 8th grade and 12th grade. She then attended Indiana University’s Jacob’s School of Music as a Vocal Performance Major, and attained her bachelors degree in 2019.

After college, she moved back to Colorado with her then boyfriend, James and they were married in July 2022. They still live in Fort Collins with their adorable dog, Lucy. In 2023, Breanne decided that although she loves performing, another passion of hers was tugging at her heart strings: working with children. She decided to start pursuing her masters degree in special education through UNC in August 2023.

She currently works as a paraprofessional for kids with significant cognitive disabilities at Olander Elementary school in Fort Collins, and is looking forward to graduating in May 2025.

Her other dream has always been to be in a band, and she is thrilled to finally have the opportunity as part of Midnight Hour Band. Playing among such talented and kind people has been so special, and she looks forward to seeing how the band flourishes over time.

Suzanne Junered, Vocalist

As a shy child growing up in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Suzanne discovered that her big voice could overcome her small stature through singing. From school chorus and choir groups to sorority competitions—with a few karaoke nights sprinkled in—Suzanne found singing to be the most natural way to express herself as she matured.

In young adulthood, Suzanne ventured west to Colorado, where she built an impactful career in nutrition, became a mother, and fell in love with the Rockies. However, amid this fulfilling life, she felt a deep yearning for the arts. She began exploring her creative side through fiction writing and vocal workshops, realizing that creativity was where she truly thrived. Although she hasn't grown an inch since age 12, her voice has grown stronger and louder, and not only in volume, embodying the woman she was always meant to be. Now, Suzanne expresses herself freely through novel writing, songwriting, and singing.

Joining a band has been Suzanne's lifelong dream, and in 2024—almost 30 years after Gwen Stefani inspired her teenage self to fight against being “Just a Girl” and to dream of singing in a band—The Midnight Hour Band NoCo welcomed her, giving her that opportunity.

When Suzanne's not singing on stage, you'll find her singing in the car, the kitchen, and occasionally on the hiking trails with her two sons, who aren't quite old enough to be embarrassed by her effervescence yet.

Joe Bear, Lead Guitar, Vocals

Joe Bear's musical journey began in the vibrant city of Detroit, where his early exposure to pop radio and diverse musical influences shaped his passion for music. Inspired by artists like Aerosmith, Queen, and Jeff Beck, Joe embarked on a lifelong exploration of guitar-driven rock.

Jaimie Dirks, Rhythm Guitar

Jaimie’s guitar journey started with a robust exposure to rock, folk, and psychedelic music of the 60s and 70s, courtesy of his parent’s vinyl collection. Four years of clarinet playing in elementary and middle school set the stage for an interest in instrumental performance that was solidified when he started playing the guitar in 1994. The primary reason for wanting to play the guitar? SRV. That started a decades-long journey, playing with a touring band from Austin in the early 2000s, providing studio session work during the same time period, a couple of original rock bands in Fort Collins from 2003-2013, and now as a member of the Midnight Hour Band.

Jaimie is primarily an electric 6 string guitarist, has played mostly lead or primary guitar in previous bands, and is really finding his groove as Midnight Hour’s rhythm guitarist. Moreover, the genres covered by MH (R&B, funk, disco, e.g.) are relatively unfamiliar territory for Jaimie and have thus challenged and stretched him as a player. Other guitar influences include: Doyle Bramhall II, Jimi, Jimmy, and Tommy Emmanuel; other musical influences include: the words and playing of Jason Isbell, anything piano-based by Beethoven, and sharing creative space with like-minded individuals. Non-musical pursuits include: hiking/mountaineering, travel, and professional growth as a healthcare provider.

Kevin Johnson, Keyboards

Kevin Johnson, a musician born in Boulder, Colorado, began his musical journey with piano lessons at age 7. He picked up the saxophone in 4th grade to join the school band and started playing guitar in junior high to dive into rock and roll.

After earning a degree in audio engineering from the University of Colorado Denver, Kevin played with various Boulder and Denver area bands, including the 9th Street Flappers, IO IO, and The Inflatables.

Currently, Kevin is the keyboardist for Stevie Rave On and the Second Coming, plays the sax for the Midnight Hour Band, and writes and records with the thought-provoking rock band Nova-K.

Buzz Johnson, Drummer

Buzz began playing drums & percussion at age 11, eventually choosing to concentrate on drum set. Learning from two very talented private teachers, he played in the local Knoxville music scene throughout high school and developed a love for playing funk, R&B, soul & jazz.

Buzz continued playing as he went to the Coast Guard Academy where he played in marching drum corps, jazz bands and a ska band formed with other cadets. During a 20-year military career he played with several bands including the Coast Guard Headquarters big jazz band in Washington, DC.

Jimmy Z, Bass Guitar

Music became Jimmy's lifelong passion from an early age, transitioning from clarinet to the guitar before discovering his true calling with the bass. Influenced by legendary British rock icons like Paul McCartney, John Entwistle, and Jack Bruce, Jimmy's musical journey was further shaped by a transformative encounter with Jack Bruce himself during a solo performance in the late 1970s. Throughout the years, Jimmy's musical odyssey led him through various genres and bands, from classic rock to jazz trios, and even a stint in the heavy metal scene with Blind Fury in the 1980s, where they rocked iconic venues like the Fillmore West and Keystone Palo Alto. In the 1990s, Jimmy delved deeper into the roots of bass playing, discovering the legendary James Jamerson, whose influence resonated deeply with him. Inspired by Jamerson's work with the Funk Brothers, Jimmy embarked on his own musical endeavor, founding Soul Commitment, a Motown disco revue that captivated audiences across Northern California for over a decade.

In 2023, the Midnight Hour Band NoCo emerged onto the scene.  Their inaugural performance in December of that year marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter in live music. With their fusion of talent, energy, and passion, the Midnight Hour Band NoCo is poised to captivate audiences and leave a lasting imprint on the music scene in northern Colorado and beyond…
